Marks and Spencers Offers Hangers Amnesty
Marks and Spencers, the UK high street retailer offered an 'amnesty' for consumer to return their unwanted hangers. It turns out that the average UK consumer has 67 hangers in their wardrobe of which 12 are unused. Across the UK this surplus is over 500 million, which is a staggering number.
M&S are going to either reuse or recycle the returned hangers to make them into new ones.
However...they won't be recylcing the wire hangers that you get from your dry cleaners - so it's always worth asking if your dry cleaner reuses hangers - it saves you closet space and saves them a few pennies.
